How to Use EPS Foam after Recycling with Different Methods?

EPS foam, as it is often said, is #6 everywhere in life. Because of its stable chemical properties, lightweight, pressure resistance, and heat insulation, this material is widely used in all walks of life. Because of its high quality and low price, similar substitutes have never posed a normal threat to EPS foam. Then many people have a misunderstanding that EPS foam is nondegradable and nonrecyclable, Today, let’s talk about how to reuse EPS foam after recycling.

1、EPS foam densifier

This method can be divided into the waste EPS foam after using professional and efficient EPS foam densifier to crush the waste EPS foam into blocks through a screw hydraulic device, EPS foam blocks can be sold at a high price in the market, which is economical and environmentally friendly.

Waste EPS foam can be used for granulation. EPS foam blocks treated by EPS densifier can be forcibly added to the screw barrel of the extruder with EPS foam granulator, and then heated, melted, extruded, stretched, cooled, and granulated into recycled granular materials for recycling.

This method is currently used in the mainstream and is also very effective in recycling recycled foam plastics.

2、 Chemical recycling

As a feasible method to reconcile EPS foam with the environment, chemical recovery has attracted much attention from all countries. This method is to decompose the waste EPS foam into reusable components such as monomers, compounds, and fuels, so as to make EPS recovery truly a closed-loop process.

The method has the following advantages: the quality of chemical raw materials produced by decomposition can be comparable to that of new materials; In addition, it has the potential to deal with a large number of wastes, which can not only realize recycling but also truly control the environmental pollution caused by EPS foam.

At present, the processes with industrial potential in chemical recovery are cracking, vaporization, hydrogenation, and pyrolysis. Although chemical recovery is not novel in terms of reaction mechanism, there are still many engineering problems to be solved if it is to be fully put into practice, and the implementation cost is still too high, which is not conducive to large-scale use.

EPS foam recycling is processed through a professional EPS foam densifier. After processing, it can be used for granulation to produce new products, such as picture frames, frames, ball pens, and hangers. It saves resources and protects the environment, and also brings the rise of the foam recovery industry.
